Smart Home Built Into the Home

Lighting, cameras, Wi-Fi, audio, shades, thermostats, and controls planned around the structure of the home — not added as loose devices after the renovation is done. Bergen County renovations, remodels, additions, and finished homes.

Smart Home Built Into the House, Not Added as an Afterthought

The best smart-home systems aren’t a pile of devices. They’re planned around wiring, Wi-Fi coverage, room layout, lighting scenes, access points, camera angles, switch locations, and future service. That’s why smart-home upgrades work especially well during renovations, basement finishes, kitchen remodels, additions, and whole-home updates — when walls, ceilings, or electrical work are already part of the project, we can build the technology into the home instead of forcing it in afterward.

  • Whole-home automation & control
  • Lighting control & motorized shades
  • Security cameras, smart locks, video doorbells
  • Home theater & whole-home audio
  • Whole-home Wi-Fi & structured wiring
  • Service plans & ongoing support

When licensed electrical, alarm, or low-voltage work is required, we identify that during planning and coordinate the appropriate qualified trade.

Planning a Renovation? Add the Smart-Home Layer Early.

If you’re remodeling a basement, kitchen, addition, home theater, gym, or whole home, the right time to plan smart lighting, Wi-Fi, cameras, shades, audio, and thermostat controls is before finish work begins. We can build the technology into the project so wires, racks, and sensors land where they should — not where the patch fits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Planning & Scope

Lighting, climate, cameras, locks, audio/video, motorized shades, networking, electrical capacity upgrades, and full platform integration (Apple Home, Google, Alexa, Control4, Matter). Full-service from planning through commissioning.

Depends on household and priorities. We discuss fit during consultation. Most homeowners pick one primary platform with Matter-compatible devices for cross-ecosystem flexibility.

Often yes. Modern alarms, cameras, thermostats, and locks can integrate with most smart-home hubs. We evaluate compatibility during consultation.

Cost & Timeline

Every project uses a milestone payment schedule tied to agreed phases — set out in writing in your contract. Homeowners who want to finance work typically use third-party home-improvement lenders; we're happy to share the names of lenders other clients have used. Any financing arrangement is between the homeowner and the lender.

For most Bergen County residential projects, 3 to 8 weeks from contract signing to on-site start. Summer and early fall fill fastest. Smart-home installation is usually scheduled in advance. If the project is tied to a renovation, we coordinate timing around rough-in, electrical, finish work, and final setup.

Some systems carry ongoing costs — camera cloud storage, monitoring, premium platform features, and future device replacement. We identify likely recurring costs before you approve the system.

Construction & Technical

Yes. Mesh Wi-Fi systems $400–$1,200 for whole-home coverage. Strong Wi-Fi is a prerequisite for most smart-home devices.

Yes. Older Bergen County homes often need neutral-wire retrofits for smart switches and possible panel upgrades for new circuits. We flag what's needed during consultation.

New circuits, panel work, or structural wiring require permits. Device replacement in existing electrical boxes typically doesn't. We coordinate permits and licensed electrical trades where required.
