Roof Shingle Replacement

Asphalt and architectural shingle roof replacement for Bergen County homes. Full tear-off, deck repair, ice-and-water shield, synthetic underlayment, and manufacturer-aligned shingle install — managed by a registered NJ contractor.

Asphalt & Architectural Shingle Replacement

Most Bergen County asphalt roofs last 18–25 years before replacement becomes the right call. Once granular loss, leaking, or storm damage drives the decision, the roof system is more than just the shingles. Tear-off lets us inspect the deck, flashing, drip edge, and ventilation — the parts that determine whether the new roof actually delivers its expected service life. Manufacturer warranties depend on the full system installed to spec.

  • Full tear-off of existing roofing down to the deck
  • Roof deck inspection — rot, delamination, and fastener integrity check
  • Plywood or OSB deck repair where rot or storm damage is found
  • Ice-and-water shield in eave zones, valleys, and around penetrations
  • Synthetic underlayment across remaining deck area
  • Drip edge at eaves and rakes; step-flashing at sidewalls
  • Architectural or 3-tab shingles installed per manufacturer specification
  • Ridge and soffit ventilation correction where needed for warranty
  • Cleanup with magnetic sweep for stray nails; debris haul-off

Bergen Restoration installs residential asphalt and architectural shingle roof systems through licensed roofing crews. Slate, clay tile, cedar shake, metal, and commercial roof systems may require different specialists.

Serving Bergen County homeowners across Englewood, Tenafly, Fort Lee, Ridgewood, Paramus, Teaneck, Hackensack, Closter, Fair Lawn, and Bergenfield — plus every town in between.

Roof Shingle Replacement Guides

Decisions that determine whether the new roof lasts and feels right.

Your Project Process

01

Inspect & diagnose

Evaluate crack width, pattern, location, and whether water is present or seeping. Determine whether the crack is structural, cosmetic, or moisture-driven.

02

Select repair method

Recommend epoxy, polyurethane, carbon fiber reinforcement, or engineering coordination based on findings. We explain the options before anything is scheduled.

03

Prep & seal

Clean the crack, install injection ports where applicable, inject sealant, and apply surface seal. Carbon fiber straps installed where lateral pressure is a concern.

04

Waterproof & coordinate drainage

Apply waterproofing membrane over repaired sections. If water pressure from drainage is the root cause, coordinate French drain, sump pump, or yard drainage work.

Sun exposure, ventilation, and deck condition all affect the lower or upper end of that range. Manufacturer warranties on the shingles themselves often run 30–50 years prorated.

In most Bergen County municipalities, yes. Building permits and final inspection are typical for a full tear-off and replacement. We coordinate permit paperwork and inspection scheduling with your town where required.

Most Bergen County 1,800–2,400 sq ft residential roofs are torn off and replaced in 2–4 working days when weather cooperates. Larger or more complex roof lines (multiple dormers, steep pitch, slate-imitation architectural product) can extend that range.

Architectural shingle replacement runs roughly $8–$14 per square foot installed in 2026 ranges, including tear-off, underlayment, drip edge, standard ventilation, and cleanup. Deck repair, ventilation upgrades, skylight or chimney reflashing, and permit fees are line-itemed separately.
